Some of our 4th graders had the opportunity to participate in the tagging of Creekside monarchs on their migration journey. Roundstone Native Seed created our prairie, and we are excited to be part of the journey! The amazing Charlie Logsdon from Roundstone Native Seed came to teach our students about the unique, generational migration pattern of the monarchs and how biologists use tagging to help track the monarchs. We are so very honored to have such knowledgeable AgSTREAM partners!

ATTENTION PARENTS, STAFF AND COMMUNITY!!!
HCS needs your help! This week is Safe Schools Week across Kentucky! Our friends at the Kentucky Center for School Safety are asking students, parents, staff and community members to pledge to keep our students safe.
HCS is currently ranked 6th in the state in the number of pledges received! You can help us move up the list and win the challenge!!!
Please click this link to take an approximately 20-second pledge to keep our students safe while at school: https://kycss.org/safe-schools-week/safety-week-pledge/

Our students enjoyed their first club day of the school year! Everyone chose a club that sounded like their kind of fun. There are so many clubs that there is something for everyone! Next month, students who keep a 90% positive Dojo point rating will get to choose a club. Check their Dojo points daily on the app to encourage them to meet this goal!

Tuesday is HIGH ATTENDANCE DAY across the Commonwealth!
We encourage our students to attend school every day, but especially on Tuesday, September 9, 2025! Bragging rights are on the line in our district-wide competition!!! Great attendance that day helps HCS as we compete with other districts in Kentucky.

We are excited to welcome our preschool students today for the first time this school year!
It's never too late to enroll in preschool! Call 270-769-8911 or go to https://www.hardin.kyschools.us/administration/early-childhood-education-preschool for more information!

Creekside Elementary’s AgSTREAM class grew their own corn, and it was served in the cafeteria for all students to enjoy. What an awesome way to see learning come full circle! 🌽

Each week, all students with 100% attendance will be entered into a drawing, and 5 lucky winners will be selected to receive a prize! We’ll continue this every week to celebrate and encourage great attendance. Thank you to our sponsor Drake’s of Elizabethtown for providing free kid’s meal coupons!

Each month, we recognize students that have shown tremendous accomplishments in their writing. We are proud to present the August Writing Wall of Fame!

Our August Star Students each received a book from the vending machine this morning. Star Students are selected by their teacher for outstanding performance in any area. The students being recognized this month are: Rya L, Kolton K, Alabama B, Charlotte M, Juno G, Addison C, Julian A, Camden M, Wade D, Dean H, Bristol M, Zayden S, Levi C, Guinevere G, Elijah R, Idreonna T, Noah H, Hevenli C, Gabriel M, Scarlett H and Jaxon F. 📖 Enjoy your book! Congratulations and keep up the good work, Bruins!

Each month, our students will learn more about Portrait of a Learner. There are five competencies that students will develop to help them grow to their fullest potential! In August, students will learn what it means to be a Personal Champion. At the end of the month, we will select our Bestside Bruins by identifying one student from each class that excelled in this trait. We are excited to celebrate our students!

We just wanted to share some Back to School 2025-26 sights and sounds with you! It is going to be a great school year! https://youtu.be/6sG0LRIP9L4 #HCSDifferenceMaker
The CES staff has spent the summer completing hours of professional development, preparing fresh spaces for new faces, and outlining lessons to help each student reach their full potential! We enjoyed seeing our building filled with smiling students once again. The first day of school is Thursday, August 7th. 🍎

Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. Wyatt led our staff during a professional learning session about Portrait of a Learner. Through this district-wide initiative, our students and staff will focus on 5 competencies: personal champion, effective communicator, active collaborator, responsible citizen and engaged learner. We look forward to sharing more information about how students are growing in each area during the school year!

Here is some important information that you need to know before the first day of school on August 7, 2025. Find it here: https://bit.ly/hcsbacktoschool2526

We kicked off the new school year with a fantastic CES Family Picnic! It was wonderful to see many smiling faces reconnecting before school starts. Here's to a great year ahead at Creekside! 📚🚌

Creekside is grateful to offer extracurricular opportunities to our students! We could not do this without the help of our dedicated volunteers. If your student is interested in trying out for the Creekside basketball team, please see information below.
**All students must have a sports physical to attend try outs. Please bring this with you on the day of try outs. You can find the required form by visiting this link: https://resources.finalsite.net/images/v1736969524/hardink12kyus/fcxeyajxecimj2bl2qsc/KHSAAmiddleschoolparticipationform.pdf
